Just like it was the case with few previous models the 2016 Honda Civic will be offered in many different flavors so you can choose the best version for your needs. This car comes as a sedan, hatchback, coupe, hybrid, performance oriented Type R version and even the model with Natural Gas conversion.
Not every model will be available on all markets but we do expect to see few quite great versions offered on the U.S. market. At this point most interesting is the sedan version for which there are still not details about redesign and refreshment that could come in the next few years. Most likely this will happen with the 2017th model since we could see few spy photos of this car that has been testing already for some time.
If we take a look at the prices of the last year, 2015th, model we know that the cheapest is the coupe with price tag of $18,290 while the sedan version costs $200 extra. For the 2016 Honda Civic we do not expect any changes in this segment and even Honda does decide to change these prices we are pretty sure that they will go up only few hundred dollars. For this amount you will be getting decently equipped entry level sedan but do not expect to see many luxury accents.
2016 Honda Civic Changes
Standard features for each model are things like steering wheel controls, center console armrest, rearview camera, center console display, Bluetooth, USB connection, iPod connection, Pandora and much more. When it comes to the interior it starts to show its age and the redesign will certainly solve this but until then we will still enjoy the current model. Soft touch materials are present even on base version and you will get a premium feel while the fabric for seats is of better quality than it was the case with previous generation. Door panels, carpets and trunk lid in 2016 Honda Civic have been upgraded to give better insulation, quitter and more pleasant ride.
Since this is the last year model in the current generation only few small upgrades will be delivered to the exterior and body panels. Front segment of sedan comes with a black honeycomb grille with chrome accents and nicely integrated clear lens headlights. Lower part also comes with longer black grille segment that is a part of the bumper and brings fog lights and chrome parts again. Nice chrome accents in combination with dark grille certainly gives it refined and elegant looks that is continued with nice side creases all the way back to the trunk lid and modern looking tail lights.
Review Of 2016 Honda Civic
Powertrain list is more than impressive and for 2016 Honda Civic sedan we have a base 1.8 liter four cylinder with 140 hp and 128 lb-ft of torque More power is offered with 201 hp 2.4 liter I4 unit that also delivers 170 lb-ft of torque. Those drivers that want to lower fuel consumption can opt for the hybrid version that combines 1.5 liter unit and electric motor for a total power output of modest 110 hp and 127 lb-ft of torque but the ability to return 44/44/44 mpg city/highway/combined. Furthermore the same 1.8 liter unit comes in Natural Gas version with 110 hp and 27/38/31 mpg result. If you want top of the line performance version then the Type R is the best option with turbocharged 2.0 liter unit that pumps out 280 and more hp and many upgrades on suspension and similar.
Release date has not yet been confirmed for the 2016 Honda Civic and officially announced but since this is not a significantly upgraded model we do expect it to come during the summer of 2015th while the sales will commence slightly after that. We are sure that it will be on streets before the fall of the next year.
