The 2015 Toyota RAV4 vs 2015 Nissan Rogue duel is quite the match. Both cars are great both on and off-road, both offer great standard equipment and both are as tough as a crossover can get. So, who’s the winner? Well, let’s find it out together by looking at the features that we are getting from each of those models.
Let’s start with the 2015 Nissan Rogue. This is Nissan’s entry in the crossover segment. The base model starts at around $23,000, and for the price, you will get a front wheel drive car with a 2.5 liter engine that will be able to put out about 175 horsepower, more than enough for what’s intended but insufficient if you’d like to tow your boat, for example.
2015 Toyota RAV4 Vs 2015 Nissan Rogue
The fuel economy is quite good on the front wheel drive model, the car being able to get 25 MPG in the city and as much as 34 MPG while on the highway. The AWD model isn’t as frugal but still offers better traction in many cases. You can expect drops of at least 3 MPG and slower acceleration, thanks to a heavier transmission and entire drivetrain.
The equipment level is great. Even if as standard you will only get a radio-CD with MP3 player, 6 speakers and cloth seats, the car still feels quite good. The storage space is great too. The only downside (if you can call it that way) is the seats on the third row. These are very cramped, and you can hardly get there but since they will not be used all the time and are mainly here for smaller kids it is not that big problem.
The 2015 Toyota RAV4 is quite a different beast! This crossover is quite good on dirt and winter roads with the all-wheel drive option, but if fuel economy is your thing, then you can go for the front wheel drive model that will be able to get around 31 MPG on the highway and as low as 23 MPG while driving in the city.
Comparison Of 2015 Nissan Rogue And 2015 Toyota RAV4
The engine found on the Toyota isn’t as refined as the one found in the Nissan. The 2.5 liter 4 cylinder engine is capable of putting out 179 horsepower and a decent amount of torque, but because it doesn’t have the option for a bigger engine or at least a turbocharged smaller engine, the towing capacity is quite low.
Speaking of the equipment of the car, a big drawback of the 2015 Toyota RAV4 is the fact that you can’t get a third row seat. So if you have a bigger family, the Nissan is a better choice. A nice advantage is the fact that you can get satellite navigation and full electric leather seats for a smaller price than in the Nissan, so you can say the price is a bit better on the 2015 Toyota RAV4 even if the base price is around 1000$ higher. Price is not a big factor in decision plus both of these come with similar features so the main choice will be related to the design we are getting here and the difference with the third row of seats that is available from Nissan and not from Toyota model.
