With significant changes that were delivered to 2013 Avalon model we expect to see only small changes for the 2015 Toyota Avalon. Slight improvements will be offered allowing this sedan to stay competitive on this very busy market segment.
Compared to previous Avalon models this one comes with much nicer exterior looks. It is much more appealing and will definitely attract more potential buyers. On the front we have larger and more aggressive grille that will allow better air supply to the engine. Looking from the side we really like the longer and flowing roofline while the beltline is slightly lower. As a result we have impression of a much sportier vehicle but still offering high level of refinement.
2015 Toyota Avalon Price
Things like the price are still not known at this moment but since this is not a redesign and similar we do expect that this vehicle will be priced quite similar to previous models. Slight price corrections are possible and we do expect to see starting price tag of about $32.000 while it will go significantly higher with higher trims and more tech features included.
Improvements that are noticeable on the exterior are nicely followed with the interior changes. Materials of better quality, improvements to craftsmanship and colors that are nicely combined give driver and passengers much nicer place to be. As standard equipment we are getting the 3.5 inch display that will provide all the needed information’s about in car systems. All this is packed in nice to touch and soft materials that will certainly give this vehicle and its interior premium feel.
Two powertrains are available and for those that want performances we do recommend the 3.5 liter V6 unit that pumps out 268 hp at 6200 rpm and 248 lb-ft of torque available at 4200 rpm. With introduction of Dual VVT-i system power and torque optimization has been achieved and we have much responsive engine. There are three drive modes that will optimize engine and transmission, driver can choose between Eco, Normal and Sport mode. According to EPA tests this vehicle will return 21/31/25 mpg in city/highway/combined drive conditions.
For drivers that are looking for a way to reduce fuel consumption 2015 Toyota Avalon comes also with the hybrid powertrain. In this case it will combine the 2.5 liter four cylinder Atkinson cycle engine and electric motor. When we add power and torque that electric motor brings to the equation we have the system with total power of about 200 hp that is enough for this vehicle to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in about 8 seconds. One of the things that we do expect to see as an improvement for the 2015 Toyota Avalon is the delivery of the Lithium Ion battery pack instead of the Ni-MH.
Chassis is another segment that received significant changes. With these improvements we are getting much stiffer vehicle that now offers better handling and in combination with revamped suspension we have vehicle that will allow drivers much faster direction changes. All the latest tech is available here and optional are larger displays like the 6.1 inch unit that will allow easier access to audio, climate and other controls.
