With the ever increasing competition found in the pickup – truck segment, car makers are constantly working on improving their technology so as to out-do the others offering in all segments. Most times, this comes in the form of concrete mechanical improvements, while other times manufacturers simply get savvier with how they characterize their towing capabilities as “class-leading.”

The 2015 RAM pick-up truck is the new generation full-size truck manufactured by Dodge. It is considered to be having higher towing capabilities compared to other pick-up trucks. Most of us expect an early release date of the next Gen-Dodge Ram and most likely it will debut next year and for it to offer more and better trim levels than the 2014 model.

This bow-tie brand brags “best-in-conventional towing and class payload” for the new HD. With the 3500 HD Chevy’s beds, you can carry more lug and the weight behind its trailer hitch than with Dodge Ram or Super Duty vehicles from Ford.

The new generation of the Dodge Ram is available in 6 trim levels. They are; Big Horn, Laramie, Laramie Longhorn, Outdoorsman, Ram Tradesman and SLT. However, all these trim levels generate a similar exterior design, that’s adapted from previous generations of the Dodge Ram. In spite of this, the exterior is reshaped giving it several additions and improvements. The taillights are reshaped into smaller modern rectangular shape pieces. The front fascia is also lifted to generate a more aerodynamic and aggressive face changing its general look. Still with these changes, the Ram still maintains a few details like what they use in the previous models such as the halogen projector headlights and large chrome grille that has become the signature of their full-size pick-up trucks ever since it debuted. The interior also received changes that include new technologies (like; Bluetooth connectivity, a better entertainment system, latest navigation system besides others), design and interior’s new color palette.

The 2015 Chevrolet Silverado HD is available in two models. A gas-fed, V-8, 6.0-liter, automatic six-speed produces 380 lb-ft of torque and 360 horsepower. A bi-fuel alternative to the V-8 facilitating conversion of compressed natural gas with both hardened valves and valve seats as well. Both the 3500 and 2500 in 2015 Chevrolet Silverado lineup will keep Duramax GM’s 6.6-liter diesel engine on their respective option sheets. The Chevy’s HDs also adopted the 1500’s cabin improvements like; its classy interior, stiffer construction and triple-sealed doors for reduced noise. A pack of USB, power and SD card ports are also available.

The new Chevy truck also comes with extra safety equipment coupled with new electronics to help especially when towing. StabiliTrak with trailer-sway-control is standard on all these pick-up truck models, this includes duals. Also, there are other cool features like; hill start assist, hill descent control a cruise control that is integrated with auto grade braking and the exhaust brake. This makes it easy to maintain a consistent speed when going down steep hills and also when towing uphill. The conventional towing capacities are also higher than before: the maximum capacity is 19,600 (up from 18,000) and 23,200 pounds (up from 22,500) depending on the engine, equipment and trim level.

Other improvements are; the optional safety gear like lane-departure and forward-collision warning systems and GM’s (vibrating Active Safety Seat) which alert drivers of danger. Standard across the line is stability control with trailer-sway control.

Word has been going round that Dodge Ram 2015 release date shall be sometime later this year. Some sources also state that this pick-up truck will be offered starting from about $25,000 at base price. The 2015 Chevrolet Silverado is expected to debut before the end of the second quarter of 2014 and shall be offered with a base price of alight above $ 26,000 and goes all the way up to $ 35,000. Prices of both of these models mainly depend on the trim level, equipment and engine choice.
