Looking at the 2016 Nissan Altima and the list of options that it offers it is quite obvious why it is one of the best selling vehicles in the Nissan’s lineup. Also, this is one highly recommended vehicle in the family sedans segment which brings great value for the money.
It is pretty hard to reach requirements that family sedan drivers have. In this segment it is important to provide great handling, comfortable ride, high quality materials used in interior and exterior looks that will attract many looks. Combining high levels in each category Altima manages to offer great package and significant upgrades compared to what we were getting only few years ago.
Release Date Of 2016 Altima
Lets start with the release date of this vehicle, according to reports it will be offered at the beginning of the fall of this year while the sales should start before the end of the 2014 or at the beginning of the next year.
Interior comes equipped with great features and now larger LCD is offered on the center console. This allowed improvements to the infotainment system, this is a field where other car makers offered more than Nissan. A lot of effort has been invested in seats that are now significantly better providing much more comfortable ride. Drivers seat is adjustable in six ways while the passenger in four ways. Leather is optional and the heated front seats come also as optional.
On the outside we can notice that the 2016 Nissan Altima brings slight changes but previous years were much more interesting when it received full redesign and much more appealing looks. It is based on the current lineup of Nissan and we will notice similarities with few other cars but also with the Infiniti lineup. Sharper creases are noticeable everywhere plus different headlight and tail lamp that are now bigger and more aggressive.
Base version comes with a 2.5 liter four cylinder engine that produces 182 hp and is paired with CVT. This setup allows pretty great fuel economy and according to EPA tests it will return 27/38 mpg in city/highway drive conditions. Compared to other competitors this is significantly better and lower fuel consumption is possible to achieve only with hybrids but this will not go significantly lower.
For those that want more power there is the optional 3.5 liter V6 unit that pumps out 270 hp and 258 pound-feet of torque. This one is also combined with CVT but also offers the manual gear change with paddle shifters. Result of this vehicle, according to EPA, is 22/30 mpg.
One of the most interesting models that could be delivered in the 2016th model lineup is the hybrid. At this moment these are only rumors but with the introduction of hybrid Nissan could significantly improve the fuel economy and attract additional number of buyers to its brand. We need to say that the standard version with 2.5 liter engine already offers great fuel economy and with introduction of hybrid components we could be getting one of the best choices on the market.
