The Crosstour used to be based on the Accord sedan but features that it brings are closer to a wagon. Even this offer sounds great it is obvious that it is not drawing enough attention like it is the case with Accord. Simply put this vehicle does not offer enough for the price at which it comes.
Just like with the previous year models the 2015 Honda Crosstour will not have much in common with Accord, fact is that this is a great loss for the hatchback/wagon version. Another reason why this vehicle is not popular like the Accord is the fact that it comes with worse handling.
When we compare these two vehicles it is obvious that Crosstour comes with few inches taller stance and it is taller which means that it would be easier for driver and passenger to enter easily. Few more inches is a promise that there is slightly more room in interior. It is visible that this car comes with elements that we are used to see on crossovers but still this is not enough for better sale results to be achieved.
2015 Honda Crosstour Review
Similar to 2014th model we are again getting two engines in the lineup. Base model will come with a four cylinder unit that produces 192 hp and it will be enough for most drivers. Those that are looking for more can always opt for the 3.5 liter V6 unit that pumps out 278 hp and adequate 252 pound feet of torque.
Smaller engine will be matted with four or five speed automatic transmission and this combination is capable of returning 22/31 mpg on city/highway drive conditions. With addition of all-wheel drive system these results drop for about 1 to 2 mpg. There are few nice improvements in this segment for both versions. More powerful version is pairs with six speed automatic transmission that can be also controlled with a paddle shifters mounted behind the steering wheel.
Changes For 2015 Honda Crosstour
Things that we do expect to see on the 2015 Honda Crosstour model is the introduction of electric assist systems that will reduce load on the engine and lower the fuel consumption. Also it will be interesting to see if the hybrid model will be offered. This could attract additional number of buyers that are environment friendly but we do hope to see significant design changes.
Last update that we have received for this model was in 2013th so we do not expect to see any major changes to be offered but with pretty low sale results it is possible that it will offer changes. Features list is impressive and we are getting steering wheel mounted controls, auto dimming rearview mirror, USB interface, Bluetooth connectivity and similar.
Depending on the amount of changes we do expect to see slightly increased price of the base version. Taken everything in one equation we expect to see the 2015 Honda Crosstour price tag set to slightly less than $28.000. With addition of optional V6 unit and few other extra features this price will go significantly higher.
