2015 Chevrolet Cruze Diesel Specs
Speaking of engines, there are three different options. The two petrol models employ naturally-aspired 1.8 liter 4-cylinder engine that gets 26/38 mpg city/highway, or more efficient turbocharged 4-cylinder that gets 26/39 mpg. Both of them make 138 horsepower. The third engine is 2.0 liter turbo diesel that makes 148 (151) hp and 264lb-ft of torque and gets 46 mpg highway driving and 27 mpg in the city. Since it comes with urea injection for lowering CO2 emissions it will require refilling of tank after 10.000 miles but since the oil change is done at 7500 miles that should be used to top up the level of urea.
Gasoline versions are mated to a six-speed manual, with optional automatic transmission and Diesel that is offered only with 6-speed automatic. The ones who like shifting on their own will be thrilled with the lightness of its manual transmission and we are pretty sure that it will be possible to achieve slightly better fuel economy than with automatic.
The price starts at about $18,000 for the basic model LS with manual transmission and rises with its automatic option to about $19,000. The most expensive gasoline model is the LTZ which won’t be less than $24,000. Representing the highest trim level, the Turbo Diesel costs the most, its price is nearly $26,000 but have in mind that with diesel engine you will be able to make significant fuel bill saves.
