Diesel segment of the 2015 Chevrolet Captiva is powered by 2.2 liter turbo diesel engine with two different power outputs. First is the 163 hp and 350 NM of torque while the more powerful version offers 184 hp and 400 NM. First version is able to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in 9.9 seconds and with 184 hp version it will reach 62 mph in 9.4 seconds.

The 2015 Chevrolet Captiva Sport is equipped with 2.4 liter in-line four-cylinder engine with direct injection and CVVT that delivers 182 hp. The FWD model reaches the speed of 60 mph in 9.1 seconds and the AWD Captiva Sport LTZ model in 9.7 seconds. Both of them come standard with 6-speed automatic transmission. More power is offered with 3.0 liter that pumps out 258 hp and 288 NM of torque allowing it to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph or 0 to 100 km/h in 8.6 seconds.

The Chevrolet Equinox on the other hand is expected to have a 2.4l four cylinder engine which generates 182hp and 172 lb-ft of torque. Other option is the 3.6 liter engine possible of generating 301 hp and a torque of 272 lb-ft.

There is not tangible information yet on the 2015 Chevrolet Captiva’s release date, but rumors are that it’s set to be released in the fall of 2014 with the latest release date expected to be the beginning of 2015. It is expected to retail with a base price of about $25,000. In comparison, the Chevrolet Equinox won’t arrive till early next year and is also expected to start selling in the early months of next year. Price for its base model starts at around $24,500 and increases for more advanced models.
