It is interesting to say for Cadillac that over the year’s models delivered by this car company were getting smaller and smaller. For the 2015 Cadillac ATS Coupe we can say that this is the smallest coupe that we will be getting on the market.
For many this is hard to see by looking at the vehicles like XTS and Escalade that pretty huge but other models really did follow this trend. There is no doubt that Cadillac needs to further improve their vehicles if they want to bring better sale results and reestablish this brand as one of the leaders on the market.
2015 Cadillac ATS Coupe Review
Just as for many other models that are mainly aiming the U.S. market the Detroit Auto Show is one of the best places for those cars to be delivered. We are getting first compact two door coupe from Cadillac and it is additionally important since it will be offered as the first model that comes with all new crest for this brand.
Same platform and wheelbase is used for the ATS sedan but offers wider footprint and bodywork that is less unique and more conservative compared to what we are getting from CTS Coupe. It is important to say that the 2015 Cadillac ATS Coupe is engineered with weight reduction in mind. This was one of the most important segments to which a lot of attention was delivered.
With almost perfect 50/50 weight balance improvements to handling and overall drivability are noticeable. As a result of the weight reduction we are getting improved performances and lower fuel consumption which become the most important factor for U.S. buyers when choosing new vehicles.
Base version of the sedan model comes with a 2.5 liter inline four naturally aspirated cylinder that has been dropped and buyers can get the 2015 Cadillac ATS Coupe with either 2.0 liter turbocharged inline four unit or the 3.6 liter V6 that comes naturally aspirated.
For Coupe the V6 comes unchanged and brings 321 hp and 275 pound feet of torque while the turbocharged 2.0 liter engine pumps out 272 hp and 295 pound feet of torque. For the later unit it is increase of 14 percent on the torque while the power remained same. Acceleration from 0 to 60 mph is done in 5.6 seconds but at this moment we do not have figures for the V6 model.
Both models are offered in combination with six speed automatic transmission while the buyers can choose the manual six speed transmission with the turbocharged engine. As a standard power is delivered to the rear wheels and again turbo option can come with all wheel drive if buyer specifies it.
