The Rx 450 will also have a 3.5 L gasoline engine that will deliver 295 hp. In this category, it’s hard to get the apparent winner since the figures are almost the same with only slight variations. The Lexus Hybrid has an average fuel efficiency rating of 30 mpg the conventional gasoline model is rated at 18/25/21 mpg city/highway/combined. Both the Acura and the RX have tried to outdo each other when it comes to fuel efficiency but the Lexus Hybrid model has pinned the RX at the top.

The 2015 Lexus RX will be available in two versions: RX 350 FWD which starts at $40,260 and the RX 450 which starts at about $47,000. The 2015 Acura MDX on the other hand starts at a slightly higher price of $57,000 when bundled with its array of goodies or about $43,000 for the base version and without added features. Given the fact that the Lexus RX is more comfortable, elegant with an exotic and beautiful design, it’s a much better alternative as a family SUV. Both car models are expected to be available in late 2014.
